Ultrachem supply a large and varied range of performance coatings used by the print and packaging industries. Ultrachem can service all your coating needs, from high gloss to full matt finishes, functional barrier coatings and products that display specific resistance performance.

COATINGS

Ultrachem supply a wide range of coatings all manufactured to the highest specifications.
The coatings fall into five main categories:

Duct Emulsions

Ultrachem supply a range of water-based coatings, allmanufactured to the highest specifications using FDA approved raw materials and are approximately 50% water, giving superb printed results when applied via most anilox and 3-roll nip in-line dedicated coating units. They are dried by hot-air that must be exhausted efficiently away from the delivery end of the press.

Water-based coatings are available in a range of finishes from matt and satin, up to water white high gloss. They have the advantage of producing finishes that are fast drying, printed wet-on-wet over conventional O/S inks, producing an even finish over printed and non-printed areas without the risk of "crazing". The use of spray powder will be greatly reduced or even eliminated.

Ultrachem also supply a "fast" range of coatings which have been developed for the latest high speed presses printing on low grammage paper stocks.

A highly flexible water-based gloss emulsion formulated for the in-line application of UV lacquer. Gloss Primer Emulsion has been designed for use on commercial and carton work, in-line over conventional inks on paper or board

DOUBLE SIDED NON-CRAZING GLOSS EMULSION

Designed to eliminate crazing problems particularly when coating over cromolux type papers. Double Sided Non-Crazing Gloss Emulsion sets rapidly and has good levels of gloss an excellent scuff and blocking resistance and is suitable for use on food packaging

This very fast drying gloss water-based emulsion is suitable for use via conventional in-line dedicated coater on paper and board. When dry the emulsion shows good levels of gloss and ink protection.

SINGLE SIDED HI-GLOSS EMULSION

A single sided high gloss emulsion coating that shows very good levels of gloss and ink protection. Hi-Gloss emulsion has been designed for use on paper or board and is suitable for application via the majority of conventional in-line dedicated coater units.

DUCT GLOSS EMULSION

Duct Gloss Emulsion has been developed for application through ink ducts on offset presses. It provides high scuff resistance and all the advantages of conventional water-based emulsions without the need for dedicated coater units. Can be used successfully on either paper or board.

DOUBLE SIDED SILK EMULSION

This very fast drying silk water-based emulsion is suitable for use via conventional in-line dedicated coater on paper and board. When dry the emulsion shows a smooth silk finish and good ink protection.

EMULSION WASH-UP

This effective cleaning solution has been specially developed for the removal of semi-dried and dried emulsion coatings from the application equipment.

It can also be diluted to make an excellent flushing solution for pipes and pumps, keeping the application machine in perfect condition and prepared for the next coating run.

DRIERS

Cobalt Drier

Used in offset, letterpress, foil and tin printing to stimulate extra hard surface drying. This cuts down waiting time and allows work to be turned out more quickly.


Fount Additive Drier

When added to the fountain solution, this drier ensures faster ink drying on all paper stocks.

1 litre FADD

Manganese Drier

Improves the drying and thorough hardening of inks. Especially good with low absorbent substrates such as plastic foils. In addition can be used with metallic or fluorescent inks where gloss and brightness are maintained.

To complement this range of coatings Ultrachem also supply a high quality range of varnishes, additives and driers to assist the printer in achieving the optimum results every time.

Achieves an excellent matt finish whilst giving high scuff resistance.

Cover Seal
