Substrates:
- Excel inks have been formulated for use on a wide range of coated and uncoated papers and boards but the levels of gloss and setting speed will be influenced by the substrate
- This includes most high gloss and matt coated substrates but there are some exceptions so, as usual, care should be taken when selecting substrates to obtain the best results
- Excel inks are not suitable for printing on non-absorbent substrates and synthtic papers

ENDURA INKS
The Enduring & Most Scuff
Resistant Four Colour Process Ink
Highly rub-resistant and hard drying sheet fed litho inks suitable for printing on general matt coated substrates, carton board, white lined chip and coated boards.Performance Characteristics:
- Manufactured using the new Hostmann-Steinberg 'HIT SYSTEM'
- Endura inks supersede the levels of scuff resistance of the Reflecta series (its predecessor) by an average of 5%, and density by an average of 11% (at equal film weight)
- Endura inks will remain at consistent viscosity throughout different temperature ranges on-press and also at very fast press speeds
- Endura inks will also out perform every other make of scuff resistant ink series available on the market today
- The tough dried ink film resists abrasion on the most difficult paper and board substrates, whether coated or uncoated

ALPHA-ECO INKS
The high-gloss & rub-resistant
sheet-fed offset ink based on renewable
raw materials that contain no mineral oil
A new, mineral-oil free binding agent, based on vegetable oils, is the basis of this sheet-fed offset ink with superior characteristics.Performance Characteristics:
- Alpha-Eco offers very good gloss in combination with high rub-resistance, which was not possible in the past
- Alpha-Eco is a duct stable ink for which handling characteristics are comparable with conventional offset inks
- The outstanding printing properties ensure problem-free processing on all sheet-fed offset presses, including multi-unit perfecting presses
- The versatility in performance of Alpha-Eco inks makes them ideal for use on the widest range of papers and boards to print such publications as advertising material, report & accounts, folders, labels and carton board
- The very rapid setting of Alpha-Eco inks allows high press speeds and large stacks to be maintained whilst minimising the use of anti-set-off spray
- Excellent press performance of Alpha-Eco with rapidly achieved and stable ink/water balance minimises waste
- Alpha-Eco inks remain fresh in the duct. For papers which are susceptible to picking we recommend our low tack version. also duct stable

REFLECTA-ECO INKS
The high-gloss sheet-fed
offset process ink based on renewable
raw materials that contain no mineral oil
Exceptionally high gloss sheet-fed litho inks suitable for high quality printing of reports & accounts, advertising leaflets, magazines etc, particularly on coated papers.The new generation of HIT process inks (HIT = Highly improved Technology) from Hostmann-Steinberg are manufactured in optimised production processes. The special constituents of the process inks are matched precisely to the individual stages in the manufacturing process. The wetting medium and the finely controlled dispersion conditions have been chosen so as to ensure that the ink pigments are coated completely and in a stable manner with binder; the binder components selected specifically for these pigments actively support this wetting process.
Thanks to this fresh optimisation of the 'Highly Improved Technology' process the printing characteristics of the HIT process inks have been greatly improved. The improvements in quality are to be found in areas such as the development of colour intensity, gloss, rub-resistance, flow behaviour, damping solution tolerance, stability at high printing speeds, and further processing.

- Reflecta-Eco inks are particularly suited to printing jobs on coated stock and substrates of very high absorbency and low-gloss finish

ALPHA FOIL INKS
Printing on films and foil surfaces generally requires special printing inks based predominantly or entirely on vehicles which dry by oxidation. Alpha Foil inks give the adhesive performance required when printing on foil, plastics and other non-absorbent surfaces.Available in 1kg tins.
